Composition:

8% Kanamycin Sulfate.

Product Features:

1. It has strong antibacterial effect for most of Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Proteus, Salmonella, and Pasteurella multocida, and it is also sensitive to Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

2. Sensitive bacteria can easily develop resistance to kanamycin. There is cross-resistance with neomycin and unidirectional cross-resistance with streptomycin.

3. It has synergistic effects when combined with penicillins or cephalosporins.

4. Antibacterial effect is enhanced in alkaline environments. When pH exceeds 8.4, the antibacterial effect decreases.

Usage and Indication: 

Used for the treatment of septicemia and urinary tract, respiratory tract infections, and also used for swine enzootic pneumonia.

Dosage and Administration:

1ml product per 1.5~5L of drinking water, use for 3~5 consecutive days.

Use double the dose for sever cases.

Adverse Reactions:

1.Same as streptomycin, Kanamycin has ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity, and its ototoxicity is stronger.

2. Excessive dosage can easily cause neuromuscular blockade.

Precautions:

1. There is cross-allergy with other aminoglycosides,prohibited to use for animals allergic to aminoglycosides

2. Use with caution in animals that are dehydrated or have impaired kidney function.

3. When treating urinary tract infections, taking sodium bicarbonate orally at the same time can enhance the kanamycin effect.

4. Cations such as Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, NH4+, K+ can inhibit the antibacterial activity of this product.

5. In cases of acute poisoning, using anticholinesterase drugs like neostigmine and calcium preparations (like calcium gluconate) can counteract its neuromuscular blocking effects.

Withdrawal Period:

Livestock: 28 days. Milk: 7 days.

Storage:

Store in a tightly sealed container. Keep away from sunlight and rain, do not store with toxic or harmful substances, and keep away from fire sources.
