Mechanism of Action:

1. Hainanmycin is a carboxylic acid ion carrier antibiotic. The way it kills coccidiosis is to interfere with the normal penetration between K+ and Na+ in coccidiosis cells, allowing a large number of cations to enter the cells. Then to balance the osmotic pressure, a large amount of water enters the coccidium cells, causing swelling. In order to eliminate excess cations in the cells, coccidium cells consumed energy but still could not be eliminated, which eventually caused coccidium cells to die due to energy depletion and excessive swelling.

2. Hainanmycin can regulate the types and quantities of ciliates and microorganisms in the rumen, improve the composition of microorganisms, and inhibit the G+ bacteria that produce acetic acid, lactic acid, and formic acid in the rumen, but do not show any activity or affect the G- bacteria that produce succinic acid and propionic acid. In turn, the protein decomposition bacteria are inhibited, reducing the degradation of protein in the feed in the rumen, increasing the total amount of protein in the rumen, and improving the net energy and nitrogen utilization rate, thereby enabling the full conversion of the feed. In addition, Hainan can thin the intestinal wall of ruminants, which is conducive to the full absorption of nutrients. It can also stimulate the pituitary gland to secrete hormones and promote the growth of ruminants.
